Bleaching powder is basically a salt mixture which comprises of hypochlorous acid and hydrochloric acid. There are both powder and liquid bleaches available today. Powders have a longer shelf life and take time to dissolve as compared to liquid bleaches. It can be used on carpets, upholsteries and delicate fabrics. In addition to being used as a cleaning agent, it is used for a wide variety of purposes.
